Therapy Pets for Kaiser Permanente
Kaiser Permanente is a national health system founded on the idea that everyone deserves the chance to live a healthy life. With 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. living with a mental health condition, a key part of Kaiser’s mission is to de-stigmatize mental health. We worked with our partner, The Public Good Projects, to develop creative for Kaiser’s mental health public awareness campaign.
We believe that the more you know about mental health, the less our society will allow mental health conditions to be stigmatized. To accomplish this mission, we enlisted the nation’s pets as our “spokesanimals.” They’re the simple answer to a complex question: what can bring our nation together for a conversation?
Celebrities take on mental health stigma in our Therapy Pets animated series. Big Boi lends his voice for a horned owl pilot who urges us to think about the language we use when it comes to mental health. A game show host pug, voiced by Michael K. Williams, reminds us that anyone can have a mental health condition, and everyone can find ways to manage them. Sarah Barthel of Phantogram speaks for her own pup, Leroy, to teach us the importance of stress management.
